Have you heard these Misconceptions about Medicaid?

1. If you need a nursing home, Medicaid will take your house.

   Fact:Medicaid cannot take your house, and does not want to.

    

2. If you transfer assets you have to wait 36-60 months to qualify for Medicaid.

   Fact: By utilizing a Pooled Special Needs Trust you can apply for Medicaid immediately.

    

3. You have to "spend down" or give away your assets.

   Fact: This is not true. Assets over Medicaid limits can be sheltered with a Special Needs Trust.

    

4. You can not qualify for Medicaid if you have too much Income.

   Fact: This is not true. Income over Medicaid limits can be placed in a Special Needs Pooled Trust and you will qualify for Medicaid.
